Overview
The purpose of Web Tracking is to gather and generate information in order to personalise the website for the customer or user. To do this, for example, the clickpaths and duration of the visit are 'tracked' and displayed. Meaningful graphics and statistics (tables) are generated from the statistical data obtained in this way.
Basic reports include information about the number of visitors, for example in the last 24 hours, or country of origin. But it is also possible to display screen resolutions and the browsers or the plug-ins used.
Furthermore, Web Tracking can distinguish between customers and non-customers and show which channels the most important visitors have used to get to the page, whether through a particular search engine, other websites or through banners.
All this information is shown in real time.
For all these reasons, Web Tracking is vitally important for increasing the usage rate of a website and therefore the profitability of the online presence.
